I’m happy to see you start posting here on Substack, because I do not enjoy visiting other social media anymore.

I like what you’ve had to say. Though I’m feeling sad and afraid today with the House passing this atrocity of a bill, I do believe that you are someone who cares about the people of this country, and I appreciate you speaking on our behalf.

I came here to say same! I’ve stepped away from the Cluckbait SM platforms. A cesspool of opinions with little to no substantive content other than to whip up emotional outrage with no apparent intention of actually engaging beyond the angst

Thank you. I only write comments to things I read from other people. I dob't know how to create my own "blog" here. Dont even know how to look at my own prifile. Cannot navigate well. It is always confusing me...

I guess you found more than one of my comments. I dont know how to look for another person's comments.

Be well...

Yeah I'm trying to get comfortable using Substack. It's very puzzling, and I haven't figured out where to find instructions or explanations of what all the little icons mean. I've been stumbling around for a while too.

I believe it has been worth the annoyance only because of who is on here and what they have to say. Rep. Jasmine Crockett is a prime example.

I’m glad to see so many people moving to Substack for important conversations.

I had left FB many years ago and then heard about Substack when I realized how mainstream media planned to bend the knee and keep actual news from people.

If you have questions, ask! There are a lot of people here who will try to help.

If you ask people how to do something here on Substack, you’ll probably get plenty of people trying to help.

On your search engine just search for Substack Support and maybe this sounds shockingly old, but have pen& notebook handy. My learning curve is so bad and tragic and I need to study the support pages for a long time and take notes before I ever think about " publishing".

just connecting with like minded, (for the most part) is feeling good, commenting and restacking.

Well effective when the international trade court judge rendered a judgement which means Trump must stop all tariffs as it is exclusively congress who gets to make a decision on tariffs and it is only for 60 days and no higher than 20%. That being said, the Big Beautiful Bill has all the revenue in it from tariffs (I wonder what equation was used to come up with it). Without his ability to administer tariffs wouldn’t the whole budget change? So what was passed would be null and void and a new “Big Beautiful Bill” would have to be submitted the way I see it. I am sure I am wrong but with the facts I have, I call that into question.

I got it from a third-party seller on Amazon. It looks like it's not listed any more. I actuallyknow how to make them myself but I would need an an order of at least ten, and even then they would sell for $10 or so. Cost goes down with quantity of course. I'm trying to figure out how to post a photo here.

Point is of course the world needs Jasmine!

I'd love to see her run again with JC as VPOTUS BUT American men would go Apoplectic.

This next run is shaky.

So much at stake.

I don't like to hear dems & independents tear down dems... so many millions of confused and betrayed feeling people sat back last time 2024 (when they'd voted Joe in 2020.)

WE HAVE GOT TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THAT and quick !

Sorry, don't mean to sound like donold with all Caps!

So enjoyed OAC & Bernie lift the nation when we needed it most. Also do you guys remember the 3 dem reps sanctioned by the gop in I think Tennessee ? Those two young men are also ones to watch. I'm really bad with names but one was Justin. I have to look it up again. My brain cells & hippocampus (🦛🏢 ) are so blown out from all this political MASS TRAUMA forced on us by🍊🤡

You are the best. You’re the only one keeping me sane through all this bullshit.

I’m a disabled senior on social security, Medicare, Medicaid, snap, and housing assistance. Now there is a chance of losing it all and become homeless. It has caused me so much stress and anxiety that I am now in therapy and I have a psychiatrist. Which I may lose due to these cuts.

TBH, I wish I was dead some days so I don’t have to wake in fear everyday.

I was thrown out of my house at 14 for being gay and telling my mother I was being molested. She blamed me. I was put in a conversion therapy camp. I then was put in the foster care system where I was raped at 16. I was emancipated at 17 1/2 and became homeless for 2 years. My life has been a struggle from the start. Why is it ending in the same way?

I’m devastated, depressed, tired, anxious, and angry.

Thanks for giving me some sense of peace and comfort. I appreciate you.

You can find friends and the likelihood of a partner and not go through life without the security of love and support. Stand tall and proud. When you think someone might be the one look directly into their face with a smile on your face. I too had to teach myself how to smile. I'm 83 now and have become happy. You will find someone who is Just Right.

Hi Steven - I am so sorry that you have been put through the ringer. It is okay to be scared, but piece of advice (unsolicited, I apologize), but please do yourself a favor and live in the moment. We need to plan for what might come and be prepared, but we cannot let anything that "might" happen paralyze us with fear. We can still fight today and if we are going to fight, than that is what we should do.

If we need a break from the news, from the fear mongering, and all the "what ifs" and the "maybes" that have not happened yet, then we should take it. Shut this thing that you are reading on down for a few days or a week. Believe me, it won't make a difference if you give your mind and body a break for 2-3 full days. We will all still be here when you get back.

What is happening today? Find out and focus on that! You will feel better. If you are able to and can take some kind of action, that will also make you feel better. I post a whole list of empowering actions in my posts on my substack nearly every day. Scroll to the bottom of the news and pick out from the list what you would like to do and then do that. Even doing 1 thing, like making a call, sending an email, whatever is fighting back and helps the cause.

It's all about numbers. How many calls came through the switchboard today? How many emails were sent on each subject? How many people were at the daily sit in in DC? How many people attended rallies across the U.S.? Numbers. Your a valuable and significant number to be added to all the other numbers.

And something else - you are not alone in this fight for our democracy. While WE, the average citizen, worry and wonder what to do to save ourselves, there are 100's of 1,000's of people out there 1,000s with power and a bigger network who are fighting for all of us too. Our World is fighting, not just me in little ole where I live in my house in a neighborhood in my State. I don't have to find the answer alone because I am not alone in this. You are not either. We are all here to support one another as we all take actions and fight, fight, fight.

There are millions on social safety net, including me! There are a lot of people watching this stuff around the clock and are taking immediate action. All is not lost. We are not victims. It isn't over. It isn't even close to being over.

Reach out when you're scared. We're here for you. Take a break when it gets to be too much! And know you are in this fight with millions of other people! Hang in there and realize that the "show" at the end of this nightmare will be worth the wait and every anxious minute in between!

Hi Bluesmurf,

I just wanted to let you know how your words encouraged me too! Thank you!

I involve myself greatly with Card Campaign, 5 Calls, my local Indivisible group and mobilize.us. I find a great surge of energy when I am surrounded by like minded people at rallies and what I refer to as "protects" (not protests, since protecting our constitution and democracy is really what we're trying to do and I think that should be our narrative!).

Sometimes, like with the push back on the Big Horrible-No-Good Bill, I find myself sinking into negative thoughts and feelings. That's when I put my phone down and walk away from the fear and the noise they try to create. When I feel ready to come back everything is where I left it for the most part. The GOP and the Administration distract us with a lot of noise I think to do a slight of hand. Distract with the left hand so they don't see what the right hand is doing. Anyway, finding like minded people helps a great deal for me. I hope you find some peace and like minded people too, Steven. Thanks again, to both of you, for sharing! (((Hugs)))💜
